Dear Jonna,

Due to the financial losses currently being experienced by the company, the leadership team has been undertaking several organization-wide reviews on  our current business models and our over-all approach in dealing with the needs and concerns of both the company and our clients.

Coinciding with these organizations reviews, it has been determined that in order to prevent further financial losses currently being experienced by the company, there is a serious need to reduce the number of employees. As such, it is with heavy heart that we are informing you that we will be ending your employment with (name of my company deleted for privacy and protection) effective August 11, 2012. In light of this, we wish to relay to you the company's commitment to complying with the requirements of Philippine Labor Law, and fulfilling all the obligations it may have to its employees. However, we are requesting that you complete the exit clearance form at the soonest time possible so as to ensure that your final pay is paid to you on time.

We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to you for all your contributions  to (name of my company) and wish the best of luck and good wishes for the future.

Yours sincerely,

I wish someone was just pulling my leg but no one. Who would have thought this could happen soon? And to the billions of people on earth, why does it have to be me? I wasn't prepared for this and it completely shocked me. I received this mournful letter around 8 in the evening last Friday the 13th and believe me, I'm not fan of this overacting superstitious which is said to be  unlucky day with no logical explanation so definitely, it has nothing to do with this widespread demonic belief!

I don't question myself with why this, why that, why me and the questions go on. If it can happen in prosperous country, what else can I expect from a 3rd world country like mine? Of course I was hurt. In fact I am still hurting until now. Leaving my company  this way where I spent almost 5 years of my life is far beyond my plan.

Deep sigh.
