Smart Move: Smart Freedom Plan

blogged by My.Name.Is.Jonna :) at Thursday, September 20, 2012
Switching back to my old network was I think among the smart move I made in my life. I am pertaining to going back to SMART as my network provider. I've been a SUN subscriber for 5 years but due to my latest experience which was a total disaster and that I don't even bother to tell you the details, I decided to avail their SMART Freedom Plan. Anyway they are both under the same management right?

Early this year, SMART Freedom Plan was launched which gives you the freedom to choose which among their buckets fit your lifestyle.

APPLICATION

- Fill up an application form
- Present 1 valid ID
- Pay for the processing fee of P250, non-refundable

As simple as that. You need not to go through complicated application. You're application will then be reviewed and approved by the manager I think. I don't know what approval do they mean. Ms. Joane, the representative who attended me asked me to wait as my application needed to be approved first. After few minutes, when it was approved, Ms. Joane logged my details into their system. Few more minutes again and after paying the application fee, the Smart Gold sim was provided to me. Yes, this is a SIM plan only which means it does not come with a handset. She instructed me to wait for 15-20 minutes for the activation. This comes with 40 minutes call to all network, even in landline for free.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE SERVICE
- No contract and lock-in period! What can you say about that huh?
- P600 limit so you won't overspend. Just perfect for a budget conscious like me.
- There are no fixed monthly service fees so I need not to worry
- I have the freedom which service will I choose from the buckets. That means I can customize the plan that will surely suit my needs.
- You can choose your own number but there's a charge.
- You will only pay for what you consumed.
- No hassle application
- You can use the service after a few minutes

Boyfriend and I were hungry so I failed to ask her some questions/clarifications. When I called their hotline, I got pissed off by their CSR named Fedelyn Reyes for being so not helpful at all considering she's a front liner. She can't transfer me to the "right account" when I requested her but the 3rd agent whom I spoke with was able to do so. She even argued with me which was very discourteous. Na-high blood ako teh! Fortunately, when I spoke to the 4th agent that day, she was able to address my concerns perfectly.

Billing will be received through email and there is no billing cycle actually. You can either pay your bill online, by direct debit or to payment center. Since it has P600 CL, once you have reached the cap, you can't use the service unless you settle your balance first. As for the posting of payment, I don't have no idea but there are no reconnection fee or whatsoever. For you to increase your CL, pay your bill ahead of time or ask staff to make a request. The latter will require you to furnish proof of income like ITR, pay slip etc.

I am using an iPhone so I need to turn off network data in order for me not to be billed for data charges. Honestly, I am not sure about this part so I have to see first.

I've told you that I highly valued communications with my customers so I must be prepared anytime and anywhere to reply on their text messages. I would definitely let you know my experience with Smart Freedom Plan in the coming months.
